Several full spurs are fitted in pairs to a shaft with each pair mounted eccentrically. The spur pairs revolve loosely in line with the machine’s speed of travel. By activating the shaft, the eccentric mounting of the tools is set into rotational movement.
In this way, not only does the aerifier pull a spiked roller over the grass or hard-surface pitch, it also loosens up the surface due to the rotational motion.
The device works particularly efficiently on hard-surface areas.
The rotational movement enables the full spurs to penetrate the soil with greater ease. The holes are also widened.
The surface of highly compacted hard pitches is loosened up additionally.
Severely compacted grass areas become permeable again - oxygen is able to penetrate through to the roots.
